Kiwanuka Joseph holds a B.Ed. (Accounting, Economics and Management) of Makerere University, Dip. Ed., Kyambogo University, Institute of Teacher Education Kyambogo and Dip. Accounting in Business and Management, Jersey Britain. He is also a holder of Professional Financial Cooperative Management Certificate of Moshi University College of Cooperatives and Business Studies. Other advanced qualifications include; Financial Literacy Trainer of Trainers conducted by Bank of Uganda, Financial Management of MFIs, SACCO Governance, Performance Monitoring, Agricultural loan product development and development of the warehouse Receipt system, SACCO Operations Management, Project Proposal Writing and Resource mobilization.
Joseph is not only a professional trainer and banker but also a senior institutional development consultant. He was formerly a teacher of Accounting, Economics and management in secondary schools and colleges respectively. He is a Tutor of Professional Financial Cooperative Management Program (PFCMP) of Moshi University College of Cooperatives and Business Studies. In his career as a banker, he worked as a SACCO manager at Mateete Microfinance Cooperative Trust Ltd for 5 years and later joined UCA in 2007. In his career as an institutional development consultant, he has participated in local and international consultancy assignments. At international level, he was part of the team which participated in institutional development activities for Amat Watt Community Bank in South Sudan in 2014. At local level, he has worked as a technical advisor in financial cooperatives, farmers’ cooperatives and housing cooperatives at UCA. Currently he is a Field Technical Advisor for PROFIRA- a government of Uganda funded project under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development implemented by the UCA Consortium in Western Uganda. He has a myriad of skills in mentoring and coaching SACCO supervisors, leaders and staff. He has conducted several surveys in SACCOs and farmers’ cooperatives. Joseph has performed duties and responsibilities like being team leader of consultancy teams and supervising Microfinance officers in the region, lead Consultant (UCA) with responsibilities like training of staff in basic accounting for SACCO, Team member as SACCO Consultant (UCA) with activities like gender audit and gender policy development for GIZ/UCA/aBi trust partner SACCOs

He is a member of the Association of Financial Cooperative Professional of Uganda (AFCPU).
